Building a vibrant tourism & hospitality sector
Working together for a strong recovery in the hospitality and tourism sector we protect and advance the business interests of Saskatoon’s Destination Hotels. Saskatoon Destination Marketing Hotels is a not-for-profit organization representing 25 hotels and 3,700 hotel rooms in Saskatoon. We are the unified voice of hotel and hospitality leaders; our collective success is central to the economic prosperity of tourism in Saskatoon.
The hospitality and tourism sectors are inextricably linked. Through advocacy, investment, and collaboration, we are working towards our goal of maintaining a thriving business environment for our collective work.
In 2019 hotel rooms generated over $143 million in revenue annually and support over 3,760 jobs in Saskatoon. Our members represent long-established businesses with the highest standards of hospitality excellence and customer service. As a voluntary private sector initiative, Saskatoon Destination Marketing Hotels is accountable to its membership. Through our membership, we deliver exceptional guest experiences and play a key role in driving Saskatoon’s visitor economy.
Goals
- Advise and collaboratively create strategic initiatives that drive overnight visitation though business events, conventions, sport and leisure travel.
- Leverage strategic relationships to drive high volumes of overnight visitation nationally and internationally.
- Enable an exceptional sales force through our partners at Discover Saskatoon globally in all core markets.
- Develop an efficient, effective membership through collaborative sharing and planning.
- Promote and grow the hospitality and tourism sector in Saskatoon
- Provide a unified voice and collective influence to advocate and ensure a better understanding between the public, the Government and the media to ensure hospitality and tourism is a priority.
- Keep members informed and to represent and promote the interests of members on matters of public importance including any proposed legislation or regulation affecting its members or the hospitality and tourism sector.
- To represent the SDMH on the board of Discover Saskatoon and any other association that supports our purpose.
